VAST Data is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its infrastructure team during a period of rapid growth. The company is building the enterprise software platform for the AI era, focused on data management, capture, cataloging, refinement, and protection of massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training/inference.
In this role, you will be a key technical contributor with broad responsibilities spanning customer success, product development, and organizational scaling. You will assist customers with system evaluations, benchmarks, configurations, and installations, working directly with enterprise clients to understand their infrastructure needs. You'll collaborate closely with VAST's R&D Engineering team to define product requirements and usability, contributing to product specification documents that shape the platform's evolution.
You will participate in sales strategy and tactics, taking ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts and demonstrating deep subject matter expertise on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive offerings in DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces. A key deliverable will be creating architecture "blueprints" for repeatable solutions that the Sales team can deliver to the customer community, establishing best practices and accelerating customer deployments.
As the team scales, you will help develop a dispersed group of system and field engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance. You will also consult on building and managing the Support organization, ensuring customer success is embedded in the company's operational structure.
