Mimica is an AI-powered process intelligence platform that helps enterprises automate repetitive work and reclaim productivity. The company has raised $26M in Series B funding and is backed by Khosla Ventures and Paladin Capital. The team is remote-first, globally distributed across 16+ countries, and recognized as a Top 100 AI Start-up by Accel. As a Staff Platform/DevOps Engineer, you will join a lean, highly capable team that serves as the backbone of engineering across the company. You'll support all engineering squads by keeping environments healthy, unblocking teams, and building infrastructure that enables faster development. The role combines day-to-day operational support with ambitious infrastructure projects: expanding to multi-region and single-tenancy environments, supporting BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) deployments, migrating infrastructure-as-code from Terraform to Crossplane, and driving FinOps initiatives. Your responsibilities include: supporting engineering teams in developing resilient applications on GKE; developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and ArgoCD; managing GKE environments across multiple regions with IAM and identity management; investigating and triaging production issues; participating in on-call rotation; contributing to IaC migration and multi-region expansion; driving FinOps visibility and control; designing access patterns for BYOC and single-tenancy environments; and improving observability using tools like Honeycomb and Grafana. The work is varied and visible—one day debugging RBAC issues in production, the next designing multi-cloud access patterns from scratch. You'll work closely with application engineering teams and have broad scope to influence platform direction. REQUIREMENTS: - Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred, but EKS or on-prem acceptable): cluster configuration, scheduling, RBAC, debugging live issues - Proven experience with Terraform as primary IaC tool; Terragrunt familiarity is a plus - IAM and identity management experience on at least one major hyperscaler: GCP (preferred) or AWS - Experience with ArgoCD or comparable GitOps tool for continuous delivery - Observability experience with at least one major platform: Honeycomb, Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic; ability to set up dashboards, alerts, and traces - Comfortable writing code, particularly Python, to automate platform tasks and build internal tooling - Background in startups or scale-ups: comfortable with ambiguity, moving fast, wearing multiple hats - Strong communication and collaboration skills: can translate infrastructure complexity for application engineers - Experience leading and participating in incident responses; systematic problem decomposition and root-cause analysis BONUS / NICE TO HAVE: - Experience running GPU workloads on Kubernetes for ML infrastructure - Familiarity with Crossplane or strong interest in migrating from Terraform - Experience with Temporal for workflow orchestration - Hands-on knowledge of Grafana Alloy, Loki, or similar observability tooling - Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server - Security engineering experience: hardening Kubernetes or supporting compliance (e.g., SOC 2)
