ServiceTitan is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical vision and strategy for test automation and quality architecture across the Aspire platform, which serves the green industry (landscaping, lawn care, and field service businesses) with web and mobile solutions.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end technical direction for test automation and quality architecture across cloud and mobile systems. You'll design, build, and scale resilient, reusable testing frameworks while balancing rapid iteration with high product quality standards. You'll be accountable for major technical decisions on test strategy in partnership with the Quality Manager, influencing decisions across complex systems without needing to make every call alone. Your responsibilities include integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, providing technical mentorship to a mixed-seniority engineering team through code reviews and best practices guidance, compiling and analyzing quality metrics (flake risk, execution performance, release gates), and communicating outcomes to engineering leadership. You'll also share technical knowledge through design reviews, tech talks, and documentation.
The Aspire team is quality-minded, uses modern tooling, and values engineers who can navigate ambiguity in complex cloud and mobile systems while driving an AI-first approach to automation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years in senior engineering roles with deep focus on automation testing and framework building, or comparable software development experience
- Advanced proficiency in general-purpose programming with expert-level command of modern automation tooling, including Playwright (TypeScript) and Maestro (YAML)
- Deep understanding of black-box and white-box testing, API and integration testing, and system-level validation across web and mobile
- Experience with an AI-first approach to automation and architecture
- Familiarity with Jira, XRay, Confluence, Claude, and GitHub
- Strong communication and technical writing skills; ability to work across engineering, product, and quality management stakeholders and deliver outcome metrics to leadership
- Azure DevOps experience preferred
