Agility Robotics is seeking a Staff Robot Architect - Platform Software Specialist to drive the controls, networking, and firmware architecture of commercially deployed humanoid robotics platforms. You will report directly to the Principal Hardware Architect and serve as the technical lead for Robot Platform Software architecture, partnering across systems, mechanical, electrical, software, perception, safety, and control teams to define and evolve the hardware and software architecture of robotic systems.
You will own the end-to-end robot network and controls system architecture, ensuring scalable and reliable integration of perception, compute, control, and safety systems. Key responsibilities include providing technical direction to other architects and cross-functional teams, leading trade studies and architecture reviews that balance performance, functional safety, complexity, manufacturability, cost, and reliability, and partnering with software controls and simulation teams to ground architectural decisions in system-level modeling and performance analysis. You will collaborate closely with software, systems engineering, test, and integration teams to translate architecture into testable, traceable requirements, and influence long-term roadmap and product direction by translating user needs, field performance, and R&D findings into architectural evolution.
Agility Robotics' humanoid robots operate in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers, tackling physically demanding and repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on higher-value work. The company has industry-leading safety standards and years of proven deployment data.
This is a hybrid position based in Fremont, CA, with occasional travel to offices in Salem, OR, and Pittsburgh, PA required to support development activities.
