Brex is seeking a Staff Product Manager for Expenses to lead the strategy and execution of enterprise expense management capabilities. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product strategy for a complex domain spanning documentation, policy, compliance, approvals, substantiation, audit, and ERP readiness. You'll unify multiple specialized product teams—Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, and GTM—around a cohesive vision that transforms enterprise expense management from a commoditized transaction processor into an intelligent system serving employees, managers, finance teams, and accountants. Key responsibilities include defining systems architecture, data models, configurations, and controls that complex enterprises require; leveraging AI and automation to eliminate routine work while routing judgment-heavy exceptions to people; partnering with Design to make sophisticated workflows intuitive; and owning adoption metrics, workflow completion, manual-work reduction, close speed, retention, and software revenue outcomes. You'll need a proven track record leading complex enterprise workflow or systems products with strong technical fluency in backend systems, data models, integrations, and configurable product architecture. Experience supporting extensive customer permutations without sacrificing usability is essential. You should demonstrate the ability to unite multiple domains under one strategy, possess strong customer and Design judgment across diverse user personas, and show concrete judgment about where AI should remove work versus where human review matters. Cross-functional influence and understanding of how product capabilities affect enterprise sales and adoption are critical. Expense management experience is preferred, though accounting, ERP, procurement, compliance, or adjacent enterprise-software experience can substitute. The role is based in Seattle with a hybrid model requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to four weeks per year of fully remote work flexibility.
