Divergent 3D is building the next generation of industrial manufacturing. As a Staff Manufacturing Reliability Engineer, you will lead the resolution of complex, systemic machine reliability challenges across Divergent's additive manufacturing fleet. This is a technical leadership role that combines deep problem-solving with cross-functional coordination and systems thinking.
You will own the full lifecycle of reliability issues: intake, triage, and prioritization of engineering escalations based on fleet impact, recurrence, severity, and business need. You will determine appropriate engineering ownership and engage subject-matter experts across hardware, automation & controls, materials & processes, manufacturing design engineering, software, and supplier quality.
You will coordinate and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for recurring, systemic, and machine-level failures. This includes driving complex, cross-functional investigations, cultivating a problem-solving culture that looks beyond symptoms to true root cause, challenging assumptions, and ensuring technical conclusions are supported by data.
You will drive engineering issues through validated closure by coordinating with SMEs to develop solutions, providing guidance on evidence generation to demonstrate corrective actions resolve issues, ensuring technical debt is closed, and tracking aging and closure of engineering actions.
You will inform future product design by supporting the generation of engineering standards and requirements throughout the product lifecycle, informed by reliability learnings. You will serve as a technical leader for reliability problems spanning multiple disciplines and organizational boundaries, create alignment when ownership or technical direction is unclear, communicate reliability risks and technical findings clearly to engineering and business leadership, and improve the mechanisms, metrics, and processes used to manage engineering reliability issues.
Diverging is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs and supports leading U.S. aerospace and defense companies.
