Form Energy is seeking a Staff Global Supply Manager to lead capital equipment sourcing and supplier strategy across multiple manufacturing locations as the company scales production of iron-air battery systems. This hybrid role (3-4 days/week onsite in Weirton, WV) sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, requiring deep expertise in strategic sourcing, capital equipment categories, and supplier relationship management.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing commercial sourcing strategies aligned with aggressive production timelines; managing daily supply constraints, status reporting, and supplier engagement; building technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and the equipment vendor landscape; developing comprehensive RFQ packages for capital equipment, tooling, and engineering/construction services; analyzing and validating supplier quotes to make sourcing recommendations; negotiating pricing, specifications, and commercial terms; and identifying cost reduction opportunities through make-vs-buy analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will act as the primary point of contact for strategic supplier relationships, drive quality improvements across the supply base, and support lean initiatives and sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking and competitive analysis. The role requires presenting strategic recommendations to executive leadership and collaborating cross-functionally across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Required qualifications: minimum 6 years in strategic sourcing or category management in fast-paced environments; bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, supply chain, finance, or industrial engineering; deep expertise in capital equipment or engineering/construction categories; strong presentation and influencing skills; ability to develop should-cost estimates and analyze vendor quotes; understanding of contract fundamentals and supplier management; demonstrated ability to generate bottom-up cost models based on manufacturing process knowledge; comfort with spreadsheet analysis; and willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time.
