Salary: USD 191,000 - 253,000 / annual

As a Staff Electrical Engineer focused on weapons systems, you will lead full-cycle PCB design and development of fuzing circuitry for missile systems. Your responsibilities include:
• Full cycle PCB design: requirements collection, schematic design, component selection, layout supervision/completion, bring-up, test, debug, and system integration
• Development of fuzing circuitry for missile systems
• Close collaboration with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors
• System interconnect diagram development and wire harness definition for vehicle electronic equipment
• Support for air vehicle subsystem development within system constraints
• Vendor surveys and component sourcing evaluation
• Peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews
• System component build-up and testing through lab, ground, and flight tests
• Low-level firmware development for bring-up and test
• Root cause analysis in support of field operations
This is a senior individual contributor role with company-wide technical scope in electrical systems design for defense applications. You will work on cutting-edge weapons systems and autonomous platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:
• BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 12+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs
• Competence with test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and test automation
• Familiarity with standard interfaces: Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
• Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies
• Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits
• Proficiency with electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred; Eagle and others acceptable)
• Experience in design for signal integrity and power integrity
• Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Ability to travel as required for testing (up to 25%)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Active U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret, Top-Secret, DOE L, or Q)
• 5-10 years' work experience as an individual contributor focused on electrical design, analysis, and testing of fuzing and/or ordnance systems
• Understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, and relevant avionics design standards for UAS
• Familiarity with electrical component suppliers
• Experience in UAS, missiles, or maritime programs
• Experience with DoD Weapons Safety Boards
• Experience designing and scaling production of components at volume
• Experience developing or testing complex electrical systems
• Experience with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-2105
• Experience with JOTP-052 and JOTP-054
• Experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions
