ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering organization, which is focused on delivering scalable, AI-powered software products. The role emphasizes clean architecture, intuitive user experiences, and continuous improvement.
In this position, you will:
- Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable software components with strong emphasis on performance and reliability
- Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions, owning features from design through delivery
- Build intuitive and extensible user experiences using modern UI frameworks (Angular, React) with flexibility for customer-specific needs
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing existing capabilities
- Integrate automated testing into development workflows to ensure consistent quality across releases
- Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring best practices in performance, maintainability, and testability
- Develop comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, integration, and performance aspects
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by sharing best practices in engineering and quality
- Promote engineering craftsmanship, knowledge-sharing, and thoughtful quality practices across the team

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5-8 years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering high-quality products
- 1+ year of practical experience with AI/ML-powered features, agentic systems, or LLM-based tooling
- Proficiency in Python, Javascript, Typescript, Java, or similar object-oriented languages
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular and/or React
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization
- Experience with REST/API-driven development and integration patterns
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Selenium, TestNG) and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex, distributed systems
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize performance across the stack
- Experience with AI-powered tools or workflows, including validation of datasets, model predictions, and inference consistency
- Exposure to AI-native development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
- Comfort with development tools such as IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, and Unix-based systems
- Experience applying critical thinking to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
