Venus Aerospace is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to join the PPMS (Propellant Management and Pressurization Systems) team. This role focuses on the design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion subsystems and assemblies for aerospace applications. Key responsibilities include: - Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion subsystems and assemblies - Generate CAD models of components and engine systems, with emphasis on large assemblies - Conduct fluid network modeling, analysis, and design for engine fluid systems; optimize system performance using available components - Generate P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) of engine systems - Develop and execute test plans and analyze test results - Apply systems engineering expertise to generate engine balances, engine requirements, and technical understanding of various engine cycles - Use engine P&IDs to generate fully detailed CAD models of propellant feed systems - Design and analyze tanks, supporting tank structures, and PPMS components - Work with vehicle engineering and test teams to satisfy engine systems design requirements - Collaborate with Structures and Avionics teams to ensure system requirements are met - Use agile methodology to break down complex projects into actionable daily and weekly tasks The ideal candidate is a multi-disciplinary engineer with diverse skills in mechanical and fluid systems design, structural/thermal design and analysis, thermodynamics, engine system testing, hands-on propulsion systems assembly and testing, complex CAD modeling, and design for manufacturing (DFM). Requirements: - 5+ years of aerospace vehicle and engine systems engineering/design experience - Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering - 3+ years of CAD experience, particularly with large assemblies - Systems engineering and operational experience - Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams - Knowledge of standard aerospace materials used in propulsion systems for high mechanical and thermal loads - Knowledge of aerospace fluid systems component and fluid connection specifications - Experience with design and analysis tools such as NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS Mechanical, CFX, StarCCM+, Matlab, Python, GFSSP, or Microsoft Visio - Strong communication skills for fast-paced collaborative environments Preferred qualifications: - Master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering - Experience with highly volume-constrained systems - Project management or leadership experience - Familiarity with Agile methods - Strong background in systems engineering for engine or PPMS systems - Engine and/or engine component testing experience - Familiarity with aerospace standards (SMC-S-016, NASA STD-5012, AIAA S-080A-2018, ANSI/ISA 5.1) - Experience developing and standardizing processes for design, analysis, and testing Note: This position requires ITAR compliance.
