Venus Aerospace is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to join the Components Team. This role focuses on the design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion piece parts and assemblies for aerospace applications. Key responsibilities include: - Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion components and assemblies - Generate CAD models of components and test systems - Conduct hands-on testing of off-the-shelf and custom hardware designs, as well as larger system and engine testing - Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and analyze test results - Design and analyze engine fluid systems; identify and source COTS components for fluid networks - Perform systems engineering to generate, collect, validate, and verify component requirements - Use agile methodology to break down complex projects into actionable daily and weekly tasks - Collaborate with PPMS, engine, and vehicle engineering teams to satisfy design requirements and communicate test requirements - Generate P&IDs for test stand systems - Work with outside vendors and procurement teams to select and source components The ideal candidate will be a multi-disciplinary engineer with diverse skills spanning mechanical and fluid systems design, structural/thermal analysis, testing and data analysis, CAD modeling, and design for manufacturing (DFM). Requirements: - 5+ years of aerospace vehicle and component design/testing experience - Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering - 3+ years of CAD experience - Systems engineering and hands-on operational experience - Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams - Knowledge of standard aerospace materials for high mechanical and thermal load propulsion systems - Knowledge of aerospace fluid systems component and fluid connection specifications - Experience with design and analysis tools such as NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS Mechanical, CFX, StarCCM+, Matlab, Python, GFSSP, or Microsoft Visio - Strong communication skills for fast-paced collaborative environments Preferred qualifications: - Master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering - Experience with RDREs or RDEs - Project management or leadership experience - Familiarity with Agile methods - Strong background in systems engineering for PPMS systems - Familiarity with standards such as SMC-S-016 and AIAA S-080A-2018 - Experience developing and standardizing processes for design, analysis, and testing Note: This position requires ITAR compliance.
