Salary: USD 165,000 - 180,000 / annual
Antora Energy is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the engineering and project execution team delivering zero-carbon industrial heat and power using novel solid-state thermal battery technology. You will work on balance-of-plant (BOP) systems for thermal energy storage projects across test and commercial deployment sites, serving as a key technical member of a cross-functional, rapidly growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal and external engineering resources to design, construct, commission, and troubleshoot balance-of-plant systems
- Ensure alignment of technical documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, SLDs, Cause & Effect diagrams) across Antora engineering and external parties; manage change control, RFIs, and as-built drawings
- Review discipline-specific design deliverables (Mechanical, Structural, Electrical) to confirm requirements are met and support field implementation
- Review or create construction work plans and submittal packages; support commissioning plan development and Inspection Test Plan (ITP) handover to commissioning teams
- Support Supply Chain and Procurement by writing RFPs, reviewing vendor quotes, and evaluating technical capabilities
- Collaborate with Project Manager on cost, schedule, and risk management; maintain project action logs and drive resolution of open items
- Provide in-person presence during engineering, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure coordination and quality compliance
- Expected travel: 25%
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (civil, construction management, industrial, process, chemical, etc.) and/or 5+ years of experience in industrial project engineering (oil & gas, chemicals, power plants, etc.)
- Experience working with or for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) teams
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications (PFDs, P&IDs, SLDs, Cause & Effect diagrams)
- Ability to work independently and in team-oriented, fast-paced startup environments
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in construction and commissioning of process plants or industrial facilities
- Proficiency in construction estimating practices and software (ACCE, ICARUS)
- Familiarity with 3D CAD (Solidworks, Navisworks) and 2D drawing tools (AutoCAD)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in a related discipline
- Technical writing skills for equipment specifications and technical reports
- Vendor and client relations experience
- Contractor management experience
