LEAP Dev is the software engineering arm of LEAP Legal Software, a leading Legal Practice Management platform used by 70,000+ lawyers globally. The Platform Security team protects LEAP's products and client data—information belonging to law firms and the people they serve during critical moments.
This role is a hybrid of two key responsibilities: (1) building security capabilities directly into LEAP products, starting with Security, Compliance, and SIEM integrations, with ongoing influence on what gets built next based on risk assessment; and (2) developing internal tooling and automation that amplifies the security team's effectiveness—triaging findings faster, surfacing hidden risks, supporting GRC functions, and identifying vulnerabilities before external actors.
You will design and ship security features end-to-end, from design through rollout and support. You'll build internal tools that make the security team faster and more informed. You'll work directly with product and platform engineering teams to define requirements and drive adoption. Your code will be read and depended upon by other engineers, so clarity and testing are non-negotiable. You'll bring security thinking into design discussions early, help the team decide what to build versus buy, and communicate trade-offs between security controls and engineering friction.
The goal is enabling LEAP engineers to build securely without becoming security experts first.
You bring 5+ years shipping production software with real post-launch ownership. You're strong in at least one of C#, TypeScript, Python, or Go, and confident picking up others. You understand how web applications are attacked and how to design defensively. You have AWS experience and the judgment to weigh security controls against the friction they create—plus the communication skills to persuade engineers who disagree. You're comfortable influencing people who don't report to you.
Bonus skills (teachable if not present): multi-tenant SaaS and tenant isolation, security in AI/LLM applications, infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 exposure. LEAP values first-principles reasoning over certification lists and encourages applications from candidates who meet most but not all requirements.
