Pronto AI is a global leader in commercializing autonomous vehicle technology, deploying Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) that automate operations in mines, quarries, and construction sites worldwide. The company delivers production-ready autonomy already operating in the field and is building toward becoming the world's first profitable AV technology company. As a Software Engineer - Networking, you will optimize communication protocols and schemas for autonomous vehicle systems operating in demanding real-world environments. Your responsibilities include stress-testing entire network systems to identify operating limits, improving network deployment and tuning techniques, and building diagnostic tooling to view and iterate on network configuration and operation. You will create tools to extract and visualize data from vehicle logs, analyze performance of networks using RF, WiFi, cellular, and other technologies, and debug issues across complicated hardware/software/real-world systems. This role requires proficiency in Python, C++, git, and Linux, with familiarity of common networking utilities. You should have a strong portfolio of networking-related projects, experience deploying and optimizing RF systems, and the ability to create maintainable, scalable software with strong diagnostics. The ideal candidate excels at handling ambiguous or undefined problems, possesses strong communication and collaboration skills, and can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You will work closely with experienced engineers and industry operators, seeing your work deployed and making a direct impact on safety, efficiency, and productivity in mining operations. This is a full-time, onsite role based in the San Francisco office with five-day-per-week in-office collaboration. The company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401(k), equity awards, unlimited flexible time off, paid parental leave, and team lunches.
