Salary: CAD 133,000 - 183,000 / annual
Affirm is a fintech company that enables consumers to pay over time with transparency and flexibility. The Ads Platform is a key technology that empowers merchant partners to strategically deploy budgets and reach targeted consumers.
In this role, you will work on the Ads Platform team, breaking down larger projects into individual tasks and delivering them in multiple phases. You'll collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams during ideation, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs. You'll support the operations and availability of your team's systems by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and participating in on-call rotations. You'll also contribute to team culture by engaging in growth activities such as participating in the interview process.
You'll work with the support of your team's tech lead and manager, collaborating with peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle. The role involves shipping web applications, designing and launching APIs at scale, and writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code across a large codebase.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React
- Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
- Ability to break down business scenarios into solutions that interact with multiple software components
- Strong code quality practices: clear, well-tested, extensible code
- Comfortable navigating large codebases, debugging others' code, and providing code review feedback
- Demonstrated ownership of your growth and proactive feedback-seeking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with global engineering teams
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
