Affirm's Streaming team is responsible for all data infrastructure and drives the strategy for event-driven architecture, stream processing, data exploration, discovery, and validation. The team leverages open-source technologies like Kafka, Flink, and Schema Registry, and builds custom solutions as needed.
In this role, you will work with your tech lead and manager to break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases. You'll collaborate across product development by working with product management, design, and analytics teams—participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs.
You'll support the operations and availability of your team's systems by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and participating in on-call rotations. You'll also contribute to team culture by engaging in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.
The Streaming team identifies and executes new use cases for data infrastructure, designs and scales existing systems, and works closely with other teams to promote optimal data usage across the company.
