Convex is building a developer platform with a focus on exceptional product experience. The company has assembled a team of engineers who have worked on some of the world's largest platforms, handling exabytes of data and millions of transactions per second.
In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain Convex's product surfaces including the dashboard, insights, third-party integrations, project management tools, and more. You'll work directly with customers and company leadership to shape the product roadmap and understand real customer needs.
Specific projects in your first few months may include:
- Designing and building UIs for Convex Backend Components
- Enhancing the dashboard, CLI, and MCP to be world-class for AI agents
- Upgrading the role-based access control system for finer-grained permissions on access tokens and integrations
The role requires strong UX sensibilities and a genuine passion for building intuitive interfaces. You'll need the ability to conceptualize customer needs, especially as they scale. This is not a role for engineers who only want to solve puzzles—you'll apply product thinking to decide "why" and "what" to build, not just "how."

- Ability to write high-quality code across the full stack
