Wayve is building an AI platform for autonomous driving using an end-to-end learning approach. The Fleet Management team builds the platform connecting engineers and operators with a global fleet of autonomous vehicles and data-collection devices, providing visibility and control for safe operations at scale.
In this role, you'll own full-stack features across web applications, backend services, embedded APIs, and cloud infrastructure. You'll work with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver production-quality software. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing frontend and backend features for fleet health monitoring, configuration management, software status tracking, and vehicle location visibility
- Building and maintaining APIs, databases, and cloud services supporting Fleet Management workflows
- Creating tools that work across different OEMs and vehicle configurations
- Writing clean, performant, tested, and maintainable code
- Participating in technical design discussions and code reviews
- Debugging issues and following work through testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Contributing to automated testing and platform quality improvements
You'll be part of an early-stage team working on systems that support real vehicle operations, with emphasis on usability and reliability. The role offers exposure to distributed systems, microservice architectures, and high-volume data workflows.
Wayve operates a hybrid model with main hubs in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver, and Leonberg. The company emphasizes that much of how they work is still being written, and they value people who want real ownership and can thrive in a less-structured, rapidly evolving environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Professional experience building full-stack web applications or services with hands-on frontend and backend development
- Experience with APIs, schemas, databases, and backend services
- Ability to deliver clean, tested, maintainable code and contribute to technical design discussions
- Familiarity with cloud services, distributed systems, or microservice architectures
- Ownership mindset, proactive communication, and willingness to learn from experienced teammates
- Useful but not required: React, TypeScript, MUI, Rust, Go, Node.js, Kubernetes, Bazel, or Azure
- Bonus: experience with fleet management, robotics, autonomy, operational tooling, monitoring, or high-volume data workflows
- The posting explicitly welcomes applications from candidates not meeting every requirement if passionate about autonomy and eager to learn
