Salary: USD 182,170 - 227,370 / annual
Roblox is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Account Security team within the Safety organization. This role focuses on protecting Roblox users, creators, and the broader community from bad actors and account compromise.
You will own the design, implementation, and delivery of features to prevent, detect, and mitigate account takeovers. The team has broad latitude to make changes across the Roblox technical stack, with past work including post-login suspicion modeling, cryptographic device binding of user credentials, malware detection, and asset laundering prevention. You'll collaborate cross-organizationally with InfoSec, Economy, User, and broader Safety teams to shape product direction and measure community impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning end-to-end feature design and implementation for account security
- Cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering partners to define goals and influence roadmap
- Instrumenting and analyzing user interaction data (A/B tests, usage metrics) to inform decisions
- Full-stack implementation across GoLang, Python, TypeScript, and Lua, leveraging AI tools where applicable
- Prioritizing user safety, data integrity, and compliance in all system design
The Safety organization uses machine learning, classifiers, experimentation, automation, and AI-powered filters to detect and prevent problematic accounts, content, and behavior.
Office presence is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional Monday and Friday attendance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of Software Engineering or Computer Science experience
- Experience working on user-facing applications or services
- Proficiency in one or more of: GoLang, Python, C#, JavaScript
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technical solutions
- Strong commitment to designing systems that prioritize user safety, data integrity, and compliance
