Wayve is building the AI platform for autonomous driving, pioneering an end-to-end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn from real-world experience. The company is developing mapless, hardware-agnostic technology integrated with global OEM partners. In this role, you will join the Triage and Detective Engineering teams, which identify, understand, and resolve issues across Wayve's test and on-road fleets. You'll scale this work by transforming repeated manual investigation into reliable automation, reusable tooling, and measurable workflows. Your day-to-day responsibilities include: - Observing, documenting, and measuring current Triage and Detective workflows to identify high-value automation opportunities - Building automation pipelines, triage bots, behavioral classifiers, and workflow tooling - Partnering with Detective Engineers to turn one-off scripts into robust, reusable tools - Validating automation accuracy, reliability, suggested classifications, and root-cause outputs - Documenting each automation's purpose, operation, expected outputs, and limitations - Tracking triage quality and throughput to demonstrate impact and guide the roadmap - Joining regular triage and calibration sessions to stay close to the work being automated You'll work on business-critical tooling used by Triage Specialists and Detective Engineers weekly. Your automation will reduce manual analysis and accelerate issue identification across autonomous-vehicle fleets. You'll build productized pipelines spanning Python, SQL, Bash, Linux, notebooks, cloud tooling, and issue-management systems, solving cross-functional problems at the intersection of safety, machine learning, software engineering, and operations. Wayve operates a hybrid model with regular in-office collaboration in Sunnyvale and may include domestic and international travel, including visits to London. The company is still writing much of how it works, suiting people who want real ownership over people who need a settled structure from day one. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years working with complex technical systems, ideally in robotics or autonomous vehicles - Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Bash or shell scripting; comfortable in remote Linux environments - Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, notebooks, or cloud-triggered automation - Ability to take an ambiguous manual process, decide what is worth automating, and own delivery end-to-end - Clear communication of technical problems and effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical partners - Valuable: experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket or GitLab, Databricks or Jupyter - Plus: ML classifiers, web tooling, or Azure experience The company encourages applications even if you don't meet every requirement, particularly if you're passionate about autonomy and keen to learn.
