ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, operating the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. As a Senior Targeting Analyst in the Solutions Operations department, you will own the tasking systems and methodologies behind Wildfire, Earthquake, and Persistent Monitoring change detection products.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining tasking methodologies that balance satellite capacity, geometry, and scheduling trade-offs to make scalable, defensible decisions. Your day-to-day work includes conducting Area of Interest (AOI) fitness and tasking scenario analysis to assess suitability and optimal modes for product requirements. You'll serve as the expert point of contact on tasking and monitoring methods, collaborating with Solutions Product teams on concepts and programmatic approaches.
A key part of your role is supporting post-event evaluation for non-meteorological events, using root cause analysis to identify issues and partnering with meteorology, operations, and product teams on solutions. You'll contribute hands-on to methodology development for peril monitoring and tracking, including R&D on new products using ICEYE's available tooling. You'll also help build frameworks that move these monitoring capabilities toward automation and shape how ICEYE monitors change across the planet as new products and methods emerge.
You'll report to the Meteorology Manager and serve as the on-shift point of expertise when operational issues arise. This is a permanent, hybrid role based in Espoo, Finland, requiring security screening including SUPO where applicable.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must haves:
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in QGIS (including geospatial analysis), Python, and data analysis
- Experience interpreting and aggregating data to develop trigger points, such as activation thresholds from historical events
- Comfortable optimizing dynamic, fast-changing situations and managing tasks independently
- Strong systems thinking with experience developing methodologies that support transition to automation
- Strong operational communication skills
- Experience identifying and escalating process gaps or inefficiencies
