VAST Data is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its infrastructure team focused on the Higher Education and State/Local/Education (SLED) markets in the Pacific Northwest. VAST Data is a data platform company building enterprise software infrastructure for the AI era, specializing in data capture, cataloging, refinement, enrichment, and protection at scale for real-time analysis and AI training/inference.
In this role, you will be a technical leader and subject matter expert responsible for:
• Assisting customers with system evaluations, benchmarks, configurations, and installations
• Working closely with VAST's R&D Engineering team to define product requirements, usability, and create product specification documents
• Participating in sales strategy and tactics, taking ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts
• Demonstrating technical leadership and expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive offerings in DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces
• Creating architecture "blueprints" for repeatable solutions that the Sales team will deliver to customers
• Helping develop a dispersed group of system and field engineers
• Consulting on the formation, building, and management of a Support organization
