VAST Data is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its infrastructure team supporting the higher education and SLED (State & Local Education) verticals in the Pacific Northwest region. VAST Data is a data platform company building enterprise software infrastructure for the AI era, focused on capturing, cataloging, refining, and protecting massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training/inference.
In this role, you will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert, working at the intersection of customer success and product development. Key responsibilities include:
• Assist customers with system evaluations, benchmarks, configurations, and installations
• Work closely with R&D Engineering to define product requirements and usability, including creation of product specification documents
• Participate in sales strategy and tactics, taking ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts
• Demonstrate technical leadership and expertise on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive offerings in DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces
• Create architecture "blueprints" for repeatable solutions that the Sales team will deliver to customers
• Help develop a dispersed group of system and field engineers
• Consult on forming, building, and managing a Support organization
