VAST Data is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its infrastructure team supporting the Higher Ed and SLED (State and Local Education) verticals. You will work at the intersection of enterprise data management and AI infrastructure, helping customers evaluate, benchmark, configure, and deploy VAST's data platform solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist customers with system evaluations, benchmarks, configurations, and installations
- Work closely with R&D Engineering to define product requirements and usability, including creation of product specification documents
- Participate in sales strategy and tactics, owning technical responsibilities within customer accounts
- Demonstrate technical leadership and subject matter expertise on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive offerings in DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces
- Create architecture "blueprints" for repeatable solutions that the Sales team will deliver to customers
- Help develop a dispersed group of system and field engineers
- Consult on formation, building, and management of a Support organization
