VAST Data is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its growing team supporting higher education and SLED (State and Local Education) customers. VAST Data is a data platform company for the AI era, building enterprise software infrastructure to capture, catalog, refine, enrich, and protect massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training/inference. The company is positioned at the center of the AI infrastructure revolution, offering solutions that simplify AI deployment and reduce the cost and complexity of enterprise infrastructure across data center, edge, and cloud environments.
In this role, you will be a key technical contributor with significant customer-facing and internal responsibilities. You will assist customers with system evaluations, benchmarks, configurations, and installations. You will work closely with VAST's R&D Engineering team to define product requirements and usability, including creating product specification documents. You will participate in developing sales strategy and tactics while owning technical responsibilities within customer accounts.
You will demonstrate technical leadership and deep subject matter expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings across DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces. You will create architecture "blueprints" for repeatable solutions that the Sales team can deliver to the customer community. Additionally, you will help develop a dispersed group of system and field engineers, and consult on forming, building, and managing a Support organization.
