VAST Data is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its infrastructure team during a period of rapid growth. The company is building the enterprise software platform for the AI era, focused on data management, capture, cataloging, refinement, and protection of massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training/inference.
In this role, you will be a key technical contributor with broad responsibilities spanning customer success, product development, and team building. You will assist customers with system evaluations, benchmarks, configurations, and installations. You'll work closely with R&D Engineering to define product requirements and usability, including authoring product specification documents. You will participate in sales strategy and tactics, taking ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts.
You will demonstrate technical leadership and deep subject matter expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings across DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces. You will create architecture "blueprints" for repeatable solutions that the Sales team can deliver to the customer community. Additionally, you will help develop a dispersed group of system and field engineers, and consult on forming, building, and managing a Support organization.
This is a position for someone who can bridge engineering, sales, and customer success, with the ability to influence product direction and scale the technical organization.
