Salary: USD 160,000 - 250,000 / annual

The Effector team is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge radar capabilities. You will take ownership of advanced radar signal processing algorithm development, working across the full stack from algorithm design through real-time implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop advanced radar signal processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification
- Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints
- Implement algorithms in software (C++, Python, MATLAB) and/or hardware (FPGAs, DSPs)
- Analyze radar data to evaluate system performance and identify improvement areas
- Develop and maintain system simulations and models to support algorithm development and performance evaluation
- Contribute to system requirements and specifications development
- Perform modeling and simulation of radar systems, sub-systems, and signal processing chains
- Participate in field tests and data collection activities
- Document and present technical findings to team and stakeholders
- Work full-time onsite at El Segundo, CA office

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of relevant airborne radar systems development experience with deep understanding of airborne radar systems and modes
- Strong understanding of radar principles and signal processing techniques including radar waveform design, matched filtering, doppler processing, and clutter rejection techniques
- Strong understanding of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) design principles including antenna capabilities and beamforming
- Familiarity with programming languages: Python, MATLAB, or C++
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred qualifications:
- Expertise with firmware implementation (VHDL or Verilog) of radar algorithms
- Expertise with GPU implementation of radar algorithms
