Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving, pioneering an end-to-end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real-world experience. The Portal team operates as a startup within a scale-up, connecting Wayve to the outside world by handling data exchange with partners, surfacing AI insights, and enabling commercial deployment of Wayve's autonomy stack to OEM partners globally. As Senior Software Engineer, Platform, you will own and evolve the cloud infrastructure and developer tooling that helps the Portal engineering team ship safely and quickly. Your responsibilities include: - Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on Azure, using Terraform to support development, staging and production environments - Own and evolve RBAC/IAM across cloud infrastructure and application layers for a multi-tenant Portal environment - Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-based deployment workflows to increase developer velocity, reliability and deployment safety - Build internal tools and observability capabilities that help engineers deliver performant, reliable software at scale - Participate in a support/on-call rotation, responding to incidents and contributing to root cause analysis - Apply practical security and networking knowledge to harden the platform, and coach application developers on secure, scalable delivery You will work on a broad, hands-on platform engineering remit spanning Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, IAM/RBAC, CI/CD, observability, security and networking. The infrastructure and deployment tooling you build will underpin the entire Portal engineering team and support the commercial deployment of autonomous vehicle technology. You'll tackle RBAC/IAM and multi-tenancy challenges across infrastructure and product layers, build developer tooling that balances speed with security and quality, and maintain reliable, observable platform services that improve the developer experience and support production operations. Wayve operates a hybrid working model combining in-person collaboration in dedicated office spaces with focused remote work time. The company's main hubs are in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver and Leonberg. REQUIREMENTS: - Strong hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with Azure, and production experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code - Deep RBAC/IAM knowledge at cloud infrastructure level; experience with application-level IAM and multi-tenant products is highly valuable - Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with ability to improve deployment reliability and safety - Solid security and networking fundamentals with hands-on building experience, not just review - Experience working in a support or on-call rotation and comfort responding to incidents and investigating root causes - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with and coach application developers - Ownership mindset, ability to work with high degree of autonomy, and product mindset toward developer experience Helpful but not required: experience across multiple cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP), background in developer experience or internal tooling, startup or high-growth engineering environment experience, security certifications.
