You will join as a Senior Software Engineer II focused on order systems, taking extreme ownership of features and systems from conception through production. This is not routine CRUD work—you'll untangle complex, high-stakes systems and solve sophisticated architectural puzzles. You are expected to provide technical leadership to the team, drive smart technical decisions, and proactively address tech debt. You'll be flexible and ready to jump across the stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure) when needed to unblock the team or respond to production issues.
The role emphasizes AI fluency: you'll leverage AI tools daily to solve complex problems, write better code, and debug efficiently. You'll also mentor teammates through thoughtful code reviews and knowledge sharing, raising the bar for the entire engineering organization.
You'll work hybrid from SpotOn's modern office in central Kraków, collaborating in person 2–3 times per week. The team values fast execution, genuine care for restaurant operators, and engineers who thrive on ambiguity and creative problem-solving.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience building systems that handle high-traffic, production environments
- Expert-level proficiency in Golang; strong PHP experience is a plus
- Demonstrated AI fluency: you've already integrated AI tools into your development workflow
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns for scalable systems
- Solid command of English (minimum B2 level) for collaboration with distributed teams
- Preferred: full-stack capability (React/JavaScript), cloud/infrastructure experience (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes), and a mentoring mindset
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, high-complexity environments and enjoy solving problems without clear answers
