Thunes is a global fintech platform providing a Direct Global Network for real-time payments across 140+ countries and 90+ currencies. The network connects to 12 billion mobile wallets, stablecoin wallets, and bank accounts, plus 15 billion cards via 220+ payment methods. Clients include Uber, Deliveroo, Grab, WeChat, and major financial institutions.
You will join the Engineering team in Singapore as a Senior Software Engineer, reporting to the Software Engineering Lead. This is a full-stack role focused on core platform and business products. You'll work on highly available, API-driven services processing millions of transactions monthly while interconnecting hundreds of global partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop both client and server-side software for highly available API-exposed services
- Participate in design, implementation, and shipping of new products to internal and external stakeholders
- Deliver high-quality, testable, secure, readable, scalable, and documented software
- Apply and champion agile methodology principles (code reviews, sprint planning, pair programming, daily stand-ups)
- Evaluate new technologies and initiatives
- Own your code end-to-end: write, test, and deploy multiple times daily
- Interface with technology teams across different countries
The core tech stack includes Golang, Python, Perl (Mojolicious), PostgreSQL, Vue.js, Docker, Nginx, and AWS. You'll work in an environment emphasizing learning, feedback, reliability, security, and massive scalability. Thunes operates 24/7 globally with offices in 14 locations including Barcelona, Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, Manila, Nairobi, New York, Paris, Riyadh, San Francisco, and Shanghai.
Requirements:
- Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- Senior-level software engineer with motivation, curiosity, and appetite for learning
- Proficiency in Golang (required); experience with Perl and/or Python a plus
- Experience with front-end languages and libraries (HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with VueJS or similar JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with relational databases
- Passion for agile methodology and practices (TDD, CI/CD)
- Experience designing and developing web and API solutions as a full-stack engineer or similar role
- Interest in fintech industry and market innovations
