Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Toronto, the company has been recognized as one of Canada's Top Growing Companies and a LinkedIn Top Canadian Startup. This Senior Software Engineer role is for someone who thrives on full ownership—from problem discovery through delivery. You'll work directly with stakeholders to understand problems, shape solutions, design user experiences, and build scalable products end-to-end. The team operates with smaller, faster squads where engineers take ideas from concept to production in days rather than months, leveraging AI-powered development tools as part of the everyday workflow. Key responsibilities include: - Owning products across the full lifecycle: discovery, design, technical solution architecture, implementation, and measuring business impact - Designing and building scalable systems using strong engineering principles, with experience in TypeScript, React, Express, PostgreSQL, and AWS - Influencing product direction, architecture, and user experience—not just implementation - Building reliable, performant systems while optimizing for scalability and resolving bottlenecks - Designing APIs, database schemas, and system architecture with long-term maintainability in mind - Using AI as a force multiplier to prototype, accelerate development, improve code quality, and iterate faster - Evaluating and adopting new tools and engineering practices that help the team build faster and better - Collaborating through design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing while maintaining ownership - Continuously improving systems, tools, and developer experience You'll need 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production software. Experience with frontend, backend, or full-stack development is required, along with proficiency in modern languages (TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, C#, Rust, Ruby). You should have hands-on experience with relational databases, API design, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and performance optimization. Comfort working in ambiguous environments, strong communication skills, and a balance of technical excellence with business outcome focus are essential.
