Filigran, founded in 2022, is a global cybersecurity company building open-source, AI-powered solutions for Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM). The company's eXtended Threat Management (XTM) platform combines threat intelligence, exposure validation, and cyber risk reduction to help organizations understand and act on their threat landscape. You will join the XTM Foundation team as Filigran's internal reference on AI-Native engineering. This is a hands-on, practitioner role for an engineer who is genuinely convinced that AI is transforming how software gets built and who wants to drive that transformation at Filigran. Key responsibilities include: - Define and own Filigran's AI-Native engineering strategy: tools, workflows, practices, and their evolution as the landscape moves rapidly. - Run structured experiments to evaluate new AI coding tools and agents (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cline, MCP servers, code generation agents), measure real impact on velocity and quality, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. - Build guardrails and engineering standards ensuring AI-generated code is maintainable, tested, and meets quality standards. - Work directly with ~80 product engineers to embed AI practices into day-to-day workflows: pair programming with AI, AI-assisted code review, test generation, documentation. - Share learnings through internal talks, workshops, and demos; be the go-to person for understanding what's possible and what isn't, including honest discussion of failures. - Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape, tracking developments weekly and surfacing what matters for the organization. - Collaborate with the XTM Foundation team to turn AI practices into shared building blocks: agent workflows in CI pipelines, shared MCP servers and prompt libraries, versioned AI configuration, and written governance rules. - Contribute to Filigran's external voice on AI-Native engineering through blog posts, open-source contributions, and conference talks as opportunities arise. You will report to the Principal Engineer of the XTM Foundation team and collaborate closely with engineers and engineering managers across product teams (OpenCTI, OpenAEV, OpenGRC), the VP of Technology, and the CTO. The working model splits time between XTM Foundation team work (research, experimentation, standards) and direct collaboration with product teams to embed AI practices in real workflows. The company is remote-first and global, with teams across multiple time zones. Filigran values its CORE principles: Cohesion, Openness, Responsibility, and Equity. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years of software engineering experience; you are a strong engineer first who understands what good code looks like. - Genuinely AI-first in how you work—not as a trend, but as a fundamental transformation of your development practice. You've already transformed how you build software, can demonstrate what you built and measured, and want to help others do the same. - Proven experience deploying AI-assisted development practices within an engineering team; you know what resistance looks like and what actually works. - Deep, hands-on familiarity with current AI coding tooling landscape: agentic coding tools, LLM-powered code review, prompt engineering for development workflows, MCP ecosystems, and emerging tools. - Strong full-stack engineering background; you can evaluate AI output across the whole stack and contribute code yourself when needed. - Ability to make clear cases with evidence; natural communicator who can discuss trade-offs with skeptical senior engineers and help junior developers get started. - Comfortable working in remote-first, async culture with teams across multiple time zones; clear communicator in English. - Autonomy and ownership mindset; you drive this agenda without waiting for direction and bring others with you. - Bonus: experience with open-source communities, cybersecurity domain knowledge, contributions to AI tooling projects, or public writing/speaking on AI-Native engineering.
