Dragos is the global leader in xOT (extended operational technology) cybersecurity, protecting critical infrastructure systems—water, power, hospitals—that are under constant attack. This role is part of the engineering team building Dragos Software and Supply Chain Security products.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own the full stack: the React and TypeScript frontend web application, the GraphQL and gRPC APIs behind it, and the SDKs customers build on. Your work turns dense binary-analysis output into actionable intelligence that security teams can read and act on under pressure. You report to the Senior Director of Engineering and work collaboratively by shipping code, troubleshooting problems, and listening to customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and ship features end-to-end across React/TypeScript frontend and GraphQL/gRPC APIs, from scoping through design, implementation, and deployment.
- Design and implement GraphQL schema and protobuf/gRPC contract changes with versioning and schema evolution to maintain backward compatibility for existing customers and integrators.
- Build and maintain client SDKs in Python, TypeScript, and Go, including codegen pipelines, semantic versioning, and release automation.
- Define contracts between frontend and backend teams (mostly Go services) and collaborate with Product and Design to translate customer needs into features.
- Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and observability; write well-tested and secure code; provide constructive code reviews.
The company operates as a remote-first, mission-driven team across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC, built on authenticity, transparency, and trust.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience building production web applications and APIs, taking work from idea to delivery with Product, Design, and Engineering teams. Equivalent experience equally valued.
- Strong expertise in React (hooks, Context, lazy loading, large component architectures) and TypeScript with modern front-end tooling (testing frameworks, state management, build tools).
- Hands-on experience with GraphQL (Apollo Client and Apollo Server on Node.js) and gRPC with Protocol Buffers (client consumption required; service design a plus).
- Demonstrated expertise in API design, versioning, and schema evolution.
- Experience building and maintaining client SDKs in multiple languages (Python, TypeScript, Go) with codegen, semantic versioning, and release automation.
- Strong foundation in web performance, accessibility standards, and observability.
- Ability to write well-tested, secure code and give constructive feedback in code reviews.
