Salary: USD 130,000 - 225,000 / annual

Formlabs is seeking a Senior Robotic Systems Integration Engineer to support the full product development cycle of professional 3D printers, from early R&D through continuing engineering for shipped products. You will bring together firmware and hardware subsystems into cohesive, optimized systems, shepherding prototypes through integration and ensuring they meet requirements and deliver physical prototypes. Key responsibilities include: - Integrating firmware and hardware subsystems, managing prototypes through integration phases, and ensuring optimal system performance - Partnering with system architects to create and document visual system descriptions, inputs, and outputs - Establishing subsystem interfaces, defining and refining control algorithms, and designing electro-mechanical subsystems - Owning subsystem and system-level requirements management and change tracking - Designing and executing test plans to validate subsystem and system requirements, then analyzing results - Resolving systems issues to improve performance and recommending corrective actions to functional teams You will collaborate closely with design teams across disciplines to overcome technical challenges and ship quality products. This role requires deep technical knowledge of complex products and an evolving understanding of how products behave in the field. Requirements: - 3+ years of experience designing complex electro-mechanical systems - Knowledge of motion control, sensors, and control algorithms - Experience managing system and subsystem requirements - Strong hardware debugging skills and passion for understanding why systems work or fail - Scripting experience with Python (preferred), LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar Bonus skills: - Familiarity with low-level embedded firmware (C++ preferred) - Experience in data analysis and reporting - Experience with consumer electronics
