Wave is a fintech company on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent by building accessible financial services—no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. Operating across 9 African countries with millions of users, Wave is rapidly expanding into Niger as a key market for next-phase growth.
As Senior Recruiter based in Niamey, you will lead full-cycle recruitment efforts to build Wave's in-country team. You'll own end-to-end hiring from sourcing through offer closure, with a strong focus on leadership and business-critical roles. Your responsibilities include:
• Own full-cycle recruitment across a wide range of roles, with emphasis on leadership and business-critical hires in Niger
• Build and execute sourcing strategies tailored to the Niger market while contributing to regional multi-country pipelines
• Partner with hiring managers to understand team needs, define hiring strategies, and deliver high-quality hires quickly in a scaling context
• Deliver exceptional candidate experience and serve as a strong ambassador of Wave's mission and culture
• Continuously improve recruiting processes by identifying bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions
• Use data and analytics to track pipeline health, optimize hiring funnels, and inform decision-making
• Maintain high-quality data in Greenhouse ATS to enable accurate reporting and insights
• Design and drive inclusive hiring strategies to build diverse, high-performing teams
• Uphold a high hiring bar, ensuring every hire reflects Wave's values and long-term ambitions
• Mentor junior recruiters and contribute to building a strong, collaborative Talent function in the region
You'll be part of a globally distributed People team helping shape hiring practices as Wave launches and scales new teams in-country. The role is primarily based in Niamey with some regional travel.
Required qualifications: 6+ years owning end-to-end recruitment processes; 3+ years in-house recruiting experience in Africa, ideally in high-growth or scaling environments; strong experience hiring for field and office roles; deep understanding of Niger's local talent market; fluency in French and English; excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; strong analytical mindset with comfort working metrics, KPIs, and spreadsheets; ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
