As Senior QA Engineer I, you will own quality assurance for a suite of tools serving providers, patients, and diagnostic reporting. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to embed quality from the ground up, ensuring both exceptional user experience and real-world functionality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into comprehensive test strategies
- Creating, executing, and maintaining test documentation and test plans
- Performing manual and automated testing across exploratory, functional, acceptance, regression, and UI testing
- Testing APIs and backend services (REST, GraphQL) for robustness and correctness
- Identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking quality issues and defects
- Leading root cause analysis with developers to accelerate defect resolution
- Mentoring junior QA engineers and driving best practices across the team
- Advocating for process improvements to raise product quality and engineering performance
- Integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance
- Ensuring web applications meet accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA) through manual and automated testing
- Contributing to performance and security testing efforts
This is a fully remote role with a preference for Pacific Time Zone alignment for team collaboration. No visa sponsorship is available; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience in software QA
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience with test design techniques and practical implementation
- Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML, CSS, client-server architecture, and APIs
- Experience testing RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) and hands-on experience with tools like Axe, Lighthouse, or screen readers
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Espresso, XCUITest)
- Solid experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA)
- Strong analytical and communication skills with proven problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative mindset and passion for delivering high-quality, user-centered products
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
Nice to have:
- Experience testing native mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)
- Familiarity with mobile app testing tools (Xcode, Android Studio, Appium, Detox, BrowserStack)
- Understanding of mobile app distribution workflows (TestFlight, Google Play Console) and CI/CD integration
- Experience designing and executing accessibility test strategies
- Experience with performance and security testing initiatives
- Experience testing healthcare applications, EHR systems, or products handling sensitive health data (HIPAA, PHIPA compliance)
