Sila Nanotechnologies is a next-generation battery materials company focused on powering the world's transition to clean energy. The company engineers and manufactures advanced lithium-ion battery materials that increase energy density while reducing size and weight, enabling smaller, more powerful batteries for consumer devices and electric vehicles. As a Senior Project Engineer on the Capital Projects Team, you will drive the execution of capital projects from inception through commissioning at the Moses Lake manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on, field-based role that bridges design engineering and field execution, ensuring technical integrity of all site construction scopes and seamless integration of new process units into existing facility operations. Key responsibilities include: leading the full lifecycle of small capital projects (scope, budget, schedule, execution, commissioning); overseeing technical integration of new process units, utility tie-ins, and equipment packages; serving as the primary on-site technical authority for construction crews and contractors; reviewing engineering deliverables for constructability and site compatibility; partnering with safety and quality teams on field inspections and compliance; managing RFIs and vendor submittals; acting as liaison between Design Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and General Contractors; leading commissioning walkdowns and technical handover; and facilitating the Management of Change process. You will need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering and 3-6+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, refining, or heavy industrial construction. Strong working knowledge of industrial construction (piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment, utility systems) is essential. Experience with project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera) and budget management is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with electrical systems integration, familiarity with industry codes (ASME, AISC, IBC, OSHA), contractor management, and strong problem-solving under tight timelines. This is a 100% on-site, facility-based role requiring permanent relocation to or residence in Moses Lake, WA. The position involves daily use of personal protective equipment, respirator fit testing, and extended periods on your feet moving between buildings.
