Salary: USD 120,000 - 150,000 / annual

The company helps businesses protect sensitive data across clouds and devices through a unified data security platform that addresses vulnerabilities, defends against threats, and manages data exposure risks. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure supporting Fortanix's global platform. You'll be a key technical contributor working across data centers and cloud environments, driving improvements in automation, performance, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and evolving data center network architectures, planning and optimizing new deployments to support current and future business needs - Ensuring reliability, performance, scalability, and security of production and development network infrastructure through proactive improvements and high-availability maintenance - Collaborating with Engineering, SaasOps, and Customer Success teams to design and deploy networking solutions across private and public cloud environments - Managing, configuring, and monitoring network infrastructure with configuration management, network automation, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting - Participating in on-call rotation for incident response and mission-critical network service availability - Coordinating and executing data center visits for infrastructure deployment, server maintenance, and operational support - Driving continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, enhancing operational processes, maintaining documentation, and contributing to network standards Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience - Proven experience designing and operating large-scale data center and cloud network infrastructure with focus on scalability, resilience, and security - Strong knowledge of modern networking technologies: routing, switching, network security, load balancing, virtualization, and software-defined networking - Automation-first mindset with experience in Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools for network provisioning, configuration, and operations - Hands-on experience with Linux systems and ability to troubleshoot across network, operating system, and application layers - Experience with Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and virtualized network environments - Familiarity with Juniper networking platforms and JunOS (highly desirable) - Experience with network monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and incident response in production environments - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure challenges - Excellent communication and collaboration skills working across cross-functional engineering teams - Proactive, ownership-driven approach with passion for continuous learning, automation, and operational excellence
