Robinhood is building an elite team to democratize finance and help the next generation manage the largest wealth transfer in human history. The Crypto Perpetuals team is developing advanced trading experiences for customers seeking fast, intuitive access to crypto derivatives markets on mobile.
As a Senior iOS Engineer on this team, you will design and build performant mobile experiences that support real-time market data, sophisticated trading flows, and highly reliable execution. You'll work at the intersection of high-performance UI, real-time market data, and complex trading systems—from responsive charting and order entry to position management and risk-aware product experiences. Your work will directly shape how active traders engage with Robinhood's crypto platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement scalable iOS application architecture supporting advanced crypto trading experiences for Robinhood's most active investors
- Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive pro-grade trading tools on mobile
- Improve application performance, real-time data handling, observability, and release stability across core crypto trading workflows
- Lead technical planning and provide guidance during system design reviews, implementation discussions, and incident resolution for high-stakes trading features
- Mentor iOS engineers through code reviews, technical feedback, and structured development support while contributing to engineering standards and documentation
The role is based in the Toronto office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. You'll be part of a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center, where expectations and rewards are both high.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications
- Extensive experience building and maintaining large-scale iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS development frameworks
- Experience designing mobile systems with clear architecture patterns, scalable component design, and maintainable testing strategies—particularly for data-intensive or real-time use cases
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, and infrastructure partners to deliver customer-focused technical solutions
- Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform improvements
- Clear communication skills and ability to translate complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences
- Preferred: Experience working on financial platforms, trading systems, or real-time market data products
- Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident
