Salary: USD 130,000 - 155,000 / annual
H1 is building a platform to provide optimal healthcare information globally, using data and AI to unlock medical insights and improve patient outcomes. As a Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you will be an embedded technical partner to high-stakes enterprise clients in the pharmaceutical industry, working directly with clinical, medical affairs, and R&D teams.
You will operate like a startup CTO, owning end-to-end technical delivery of data-driven solutions on H1's Medical and Clinical Products platforms. Your responsibilities include:
- Serving as a trusted technical partner to pharma clients, translating business needs into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Building, deploying, and optimizing full-stack applications by diving deep into H1's data and SaaS architecture
- Ingesting, modeling, and integrating complex enterprise data (claims, clinical trials, provider records) at scale
- Owning full-stack responsibilities from data modeling to UI, delivering and iterating live solutions within client environments
- Partnering with client executives and non-technical stakeholders to shape project scope, estimate effort, and deliver outcomes in collaboration with Product and Engagement teams
- Operating autonomously within small teams, influencing architectural and delivery standards with direct client impact
You are comfortable navigating technical and non-technical audiences in fast-moving, ambiguous settings. You have the grit to own an engagement end-to-end, from discovery to delivery, with a founder or technical lead mindset. You are a pragmatic builder with a rigorous analytical approach, especially around large-scale data operations, and you are hands-on and code-first with systems-level understanding.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including direct collaboration with enterprise clients and cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with JavaScript and backend technologies such as SQL (PostgreSQL preferred), along with strong programming skills in Python
- Hands-on experience with data platforms and pipeline tools in an AWS environment, including Airflow, AWS EMR, EKS, and custom ETL workflows
- Proven ability to mentor peers or lead small teams while remaining deeply hands-on
- Familiarity with Salesforce data models and GTM workflows (leads, accounts, opportunities, activities) to design solutions that support client-specific use cases
