Salary: CAD 128,000 - 200,000 / annual
Jane App is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company serving thousands of clinics across North America and the UK. The Patient Booking Web team owns the public-facing experiences patients use to book appointments online: the booking page, My Account, and embeddable booking widgets for clinic websites. Every time a patient books a physio session, massage, or counselling appointment online, they're using software built by this team.
As a Senior Developer on the Patient Booking Web team, you'll be a core builder on a small, close-knit group. The team is modernizing patient booking by migrating from a long-lived codebase to React, one piece at a time, while keeping the experience live for clinics and patients who depend on it. You'll work across the full stack—React, TypeScript, and Rails—connecting frontend features with backend APIs and services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Migrating Online Booking and My Account to React, building new features and refactoring existing sections while maintaining uptime
- Working across the stack in React, TypeScript, and Rails
- Championing accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA, keyboard navigation, screen readers, ARIA) in all work
- Contributing to technical discussions, design docs, and architecture planning
- Owning complex, long-lived bugs with curiosity and leaving code better than you found it
- Mentoring teammates through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Driving safe releases using feature flags and production monitoring
- Using AI pragmatically to accelerate migration work and daily development while maintaining quality standards

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated senior-level work
- Solid, hands-on experience with React and TypeScript (core to daily work)
- Balanced full-stack background with comfort working on APIs and backend code alongside frontend features
- Experience modernizing long-lived codebases in stages while maintaining production uptime
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices: WCAG 2.1 AA, keyboard behavior, focus management, ARIA
- Experience shipping with feature flags, gradual rollouts, and production monitoring
- Collaborative communication style: share reasoning, welcome feedback, raise concerns early and kindly
- Everyday use of AI in coding workflow and curiosity about team productivity improvements
- Nice-to-have: Ruby on Rails experience, client-side routing/state management (Redux Toolkit), hands-on screen reader testing, experience building embeddable widgets
