hyperexponential is an AI-powered platform serving the £7 trillion insurance industry, helping insurers make critical risk and pricing decisions. Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, the company is trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through the platform. This Senior Delivery Engineer role sits within the Client Education team (not traditional Delivery Engineering) and focuses on the Developer+ programme—a structured enablement initiative for customers building on the hx platform. You'll work closely with the Delivery Engineering team and Product, but your day-to-day centers on customer success: delivering workshops, running drop-in support sessions, conducting code reviews, and iteratively shaping the programme based on what you learn from customers. Key responsibilities include: - Transitioning customer teams from hx-led builds to independent delivery, shifting from pairing to review and advisory - Delivering structured enablement sessions on architecture, coding best practices, testing, deployment, and model lifecycles, tailored to each team's level - Running code review as a consistent, standards-anchored service and evolving hx's model development standards based on review findings - Providing drop-in technical support, resolving most issues in-session rather than escalating - Building repeatable processes and documentation to make Developer+ scalable and not personality-dependent - Converting delivery knowledge into hx Academy content, prioritized by real customer friction points - Acting as the technical voice of the customer to Product, feeding back recurring friction on a regular cadence This is not a typical delivery role—there's no established playbook yet, so the ability to build one from scratch is critical. You'll work with a unique blend of engineers, actuaries, mathematicians, and data scientists, and you'll need to communicate credibly across developers, actuaries, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep expertise in the hx platform and production-grade Python, including testing, deployment, and model lifecycles - Strong pricing and modelling judgement when working with insurance and actuarial teams (insurance/actuarial background is a plus) - Proven technical enablement instincts—ability to pitch sessions and documentation at the audience's actual level - Experience coaching customer teams to work independently rather than solving problems for them - High ownership and self-direction; ability to build repeatable processes where none exists - Transparent prioritization across competing delivery, review, and content demands - Clear, credible communication across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders - Comfort with ambiguous, open-ended problems where the solution isn't obvious - Willingness to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to understand their challenges
