Sportradar is the world's leading sports technology company serving sports federations, media outlets, betting operators, and consumer platforms across 120 countries. The Quants department is responsible for creating predictive models for pre-match and in-play betting markets across various sports.
In this Senior Data Scientist role, you will report to the Head of Quants and work closely with colleagues in the Quants team, product owners, developers, and traders company-wide. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and developing predictive models for betting markets
- Cleaning, visualizing, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data
- Implementing created models in Java and testing them
- Publishing and maintaining Java libraries
- Analyzing, evaluating, and optimizing existing predictive models as a model co-owner
- Supporting the team in maintaining the codebase
- Researching new methods for future applications
- Providing data analysis and math-related tasks on demand
You will work in a collaborative, global environment with offices across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. The company operates on a hybrid model with team members expected to work in the office four days per week to foster collaboration and innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent/higher qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or closely related field
- Experienced in predictive modelling with deep understanding of data analysis and modelling techniques (GLMs, Time-Series Analysis, Bayesian Statistics, MCMC, neural networks, etc.)
- Very strong skills in R or Python
- Advanced coding and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
- Creative thinking and keen to refine systems and processes
- Highly self-motivated with enthusiasm and ability to lead by example
- Team player with ability to work with new teams immediately
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in object-oriented programming, preferably Java
- Experience with Gitlab, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience with SQL
