Tantalus Systems (TSX: GRID) is a publicly traded technology company modernizing utility distribution grids through smart grid solutions. The company operates across intelligent connected devices, communications networks, data management, enterprise applications, and analytics—enabling utilities to harness data from substations to EV chargers and supporting grid electrification and decarbonization.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this Senior Associate role serves as a strategic thought partner to the executive team, combining analytical rigor with hands-on execution across financial and strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities span three domains:
**Strategy & Market Intelligence:** Monitor macro and sector trends in electric utilities, smart grid, and cleantech markets, synthesizing insights for leadership. Conduct competitive landscape analysis, market sizing, and benchmarking to inform product strategy and go-to-market decisions. Prepare executive-level briefings on emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and competitor activity. Support the CEO on ad hoc strategic projects.
**Strategic Finance & FP&A:** Develop and maintain financial models, operating forecasts, and multi-year financial plans. Partner with Finance on quarterly and annual budgeting. Build scenario and sensitivity analyses for capital allocation, pricing strategy, and business development decisions. Prepare financial performance summaries and investor materials.
**M&A & Corporate Development:** Provide rigorous analytical support on M&A opportunities, strategic partnerships, and contract negotiations. Contribute to investor relations by preparing earnings and investor materials. Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to ensure strategic initiatives are well-analyzed, communicated, and executed.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role that translates complex data into clear insights and Board-ready recommendations, while continuously improving how Tantalus plans, invests, and communicates with stakeholders. The position is based in Norwalk, CT, with the company also operating offices in Burnaby, BC and Raleigh, NC.
