Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the energy and compute backbone for the world's most ambitious AI workloads. As a Senior Applications Engineer (Application Engineer III), you will be the primary technical bridge between customer requirements, estimating, and manufacturing teams.
You will own the initial project phase by defining technical scopes, generating preliminary electrical and mechanical designs, and directly supporting cost estimation for custom power, control, and modular building solutions. This is a hands-on role that combines customer engagement, technical design, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities include: translating complex customer requirements into clear technical specifications; preparing accurate cost estimates and technical proposals; creating preliminary electrical design deliverables (one-line diagrams, control schematics, bills of materials); verifying technical accuracy and cost-effectiveness of quoted materials; sizing electrical components per NEC codes; and facilitating seamless handoffs from proposal stage to design engineering.
You bring a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, plus minimum 3 years in manufacturing, construction, or project environments (including 1+ years in applications, estimating, or technical sales). You have solid understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems, proven ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and working knowledge of NEC and industry standards. You're proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD software, excel at relationship management across production, technical, and estimating teams, and can manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus experience includes modular building construction, industrial controls, automation systems, UL standards compliance, and hands-on QA/QC and Factory Acceptance Testing. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol program participation.
