Salary: USD 90,000 - 163,000 / annual

You will support all parts of the product development cycle from early R&D to continuing engineering for shipped products. This role involves bringing together firmware and hardware subsystems into integrated systems, managing prototypes through integration, and ensuring optimal performance against requirements. You will partner with system architects to create and document system descriptions and subsystem interfaces, establish control algorithms, and design electro-mechanical subsystems. Key responsibilities include: - Integrating firmware and hardware subsystems and delivering physical prototypes - Partnering with system architects to document system and subsystem descriptions, inputs, and outputs - Establishing subsystem interfaces and defining/refining control algorithms - Managing subsystem and system-level requirements and tracking changes - Designing and executing test plans to validate requirements, analyzing results - Resolving system issues and recommending corrective actions You will collaborate closely with design teams to overcome cross-disciplinary problems and ensure quality product delivery. The role involves hands-on work across the full range of Formlabs products, particularly supporting the dental 3D printing business. REQUIREMENTS: - Previous experience designing complex electro-mechanical systems - Knowledge of motion control, sensors, and control algorithms - Experience managing system and subsystem requirements - Strong hardware debugging skills and passion for understanding how systems work - Scripting experience with Python (preferred), LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar BONUS SKILLS: - Familiarity with low-level embedded firmware (C++ preferred) - Experience with data analysis and reporting - Experience with consumer electronics
