As a Quality Engineer II, you will be a core member of the quality team, leveraging AI tools like Claude Code as your primary development environment. You'll build and maintain automated test coverage across E2E user flows and REST APIs, contributing to the E2E automation framework. The role is automation-first, built around the test pyramid, with a strong foundation of automated tests in the CI/CD pipeline that you'll continuously expand.
Key responsibilities include:
• Using AI tools like Claude Code to generate, maintain, and refine automated tests
• Building and maintaining automated coverage across E2E user flows and REST APIs
• Collaborating with engineers and product to plan test cases and coverage for new features
• Troubleshooting failures, investigating logs, and driving root cause analysis on bugs
• Becoming a subject matter expert in your product domain, understanding business rules, user workflows, and edge cases
• Championing quality across the team, pushing for testability and meaningful coverage early in development
• Staying current on AI capabilities in testing (e.g., AI-driven exploratory testing, agentic test generation, self-healing tests)
• Actively participating in team meetings and maintaining strong presence across remote communication channels
Manual testing is not the default here—you're expected to automate by default and apply sound judgment about rare cases where hands-on manual validation genuinely adds value, particularly for high-risk or complex scenarios.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 2–4 years of Quality Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code); comfort using AI to accelerate workflow and openness to evaluating new tools
• Strong instincts for breaking web-based software ("breaker's mindset") and judgment to know when automation covers a scenario vs. when manual validation is warranted
• Browser automation experience with Playwright or other modern test frameworks
• Experience testing REST-based web applications, front and back end (including API testing tools like Swagger UI)
• Working proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
• Working knowledge of Git and source control workflows
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries to verify data and investigate issues
• Experience troubleshooting test failures by interpreting stack traces, verifying data in logs, and reproducing bugs
• Strong communication skills with pragmatic and proactive attitude
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
NICE TO HAVES:
• Experience building or refining prompt engineering workflows for test generation
• Experience with agentic workflows (running async coding agents, MCP integrations, custom tooling around LLMs)
• Familiarity with CI pipelines
