SpotOn is a restaurant technology platform providing point-of-sale systems and AI-powered profit tools to independent restaurants. The company is ranked #1 Restaurant POS by G2 and has been recognized as a Great Place to Work. As Product Manager for Payments, you will own the end-to-end payments strategy and execution across SpotOn's hospitality ecosystem. This includes card-present and card-not-present acceptance, transaction processing, routing, settlement, and merchant funding flows. You will define how payments are presented, authorized, captured, settled, and funded while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the payments product roadmap across all payment media types (chip, contactless, digital wallets, ecommerce tokens, loyalty) with focus on hospitality use cases (table service, counter service, bars, quick-service, multi-location groups). - Translating complex payment flows into intuitive merchant experiences, including refunds, tips, adjustments, partial authorizations, and offline authorization. - Monitoring and improving payment performance metrics—authorization rates, chargebacks, declines, disputes, latency, and reconciliation accuracy through data-driven experimentation. - Partnering with risk, compliance, and security teams to ensure adherence to network rules and PCI DSS compliance. - Leading discovery with external processors, acquirers, gateways, and partners to evaluate new capabilities and cost-optimization opportunities. - Collaborating with money movement and remittance teams to ensure accurate, timely merchant funding with transparent fee and chargeback handling. - Acting as the primary product point of contact for payments, aligning cross-functional stakeholders around vision, roadmap, and success metrics. - Facilitating cross-functional decision-making and communicating trade-offs, risks, and progress to executives. - Mentoring adjacent product teams on payment best practices and platform standards. Required qualifications: 5+ years of product management experience with at least 3 years focused on payments, fintech, or financial services. Deep understanding of card-present and card-not-present payments, authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, tokenization, risk, and chargeback flows. Working familiarity with merchant processing economics (interchange, scheme fees, settlement). Experience with payment processors, acquirers, gateways, or card networks in platform/multi-tenant environments. Strong analytical skills with ability to work with payment datasets, build dashboards, define KPIs, and drive experimentation. Proven success shipping complex technical products requiring deep engineering and operations collaboration. Excellent communication skills.
