As a Product Engineer, you will build polished, customer-facing features that solve real problems. You'll partner with design and engineering to architect and ship functionality from conception through launch. Your work will span the full product lifecycle: tackling complex technical challenges (virtualized rendering optimization, content management systems), driving user experience through last-mile refinements, enhancing performance and scale, and contributing to product direction and engineering approaches across the stack.
You'll have high ownership and agency, defining solutions rather than following specs. You'll collaborate directly with customers to gather insights that shape product decisions. The team values craft, speed, and thoughtful execution, and you'll have plenty of heads-down builder time on a small, high-impact team where the best ideas win.
Mintlify's engineering culture emphasizes learning velocity, grit, and unique personalities. Recent technical achievements include building a virtual filesystem for their AI Assistant, a collaborative editor for teams and agents, and benchmarking work on Markdown and llms.txt for LLM agents.
Benefits include competitive compensation and equity, 20 days PTO, 401k, $420/month wellness stipend, 100% health/dental/vision coverage, free Ubers to/from work, free lunch and dinners, and annual team offsites.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A technical "spike" in either frontend or backend:
- Frontend: Strong experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, including component architecture, state management, and rendering performance
- Backend: Systems design, API architecture, and database optimization
- Strong product intuition and care about the "why" as much as the "how" when building user-facing software
- Adaptability and willingness to jump into new territory across the stack to ship features
- High degree of ownership; thrive when defining solutions rather than following specs
- Eagerness to talk directly with customers and use insights to shape product direction
