Mujin is a global leader in industrial automation, developing MujinOS—an intelligent operating system for robotics powered by Machine Intelligence (MujinMI). The company uses real-time digital twins, advanced perception, planning, and control algorithms to enable fully autonomous operations in complex supply chain applications like palletizing, picking, and truck unloading.
As a Platform Engineer, you will focus on building scalable, reliable processes for software packaging, validation, and delivery. Rather than building features, you'll shape the infrastructure and tooling that enables Mujin's engineering teams to release software confidently and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing internal tools and services that support engineers across the organization
- Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, release workflows, documentation systems, log collection, and internal support workflows
- Contributing to both new tools and existing systems using Rust, Go, Python, and other languages
- Building and improving tooling for containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Working closely with core software engineers, QA teams, and documentation owners to ensure releases are predictable, efficient, and scalable
- Staying hands-on with release-stage QA and integration validation
You will work in a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of automation at scale, broadening your engineering experience across multiple technical areas and layers of systems.
Work hours: 8:45–17:45 (60-minute break). Location: 3-8-5 Tatsumi, Koto-Ku, Tokyo 135-0053, Japan.
**Requirements:**
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience designing and building software services, command-line tools, developer tools, or internal engineering systems
- Professional programming experience with at least one general-purpose language (Rust, Go, Python, C++, or comparable)
- Experience contributing to software across multiple technical areas or layers of a system
- Understanding of software development workflows (CI/CD, build systems, testing, deployment, release processes)
- Ability to collaborate with engineers and understand the needs of internal users
**Preferred:**
- Experience in Platform Engineering, Developer Experience, Engineering Enablement, or similar teams
- Experience building tools or services used by large engineering organizations
- Proficiency with Rust, Go, or Python
